
During the coronavirus pandemic, recruitment firms are resorting to going online for candidate interviews due to people being unable to leave their houses.
In recent weeks, a growing number of companies are asking people to work remotely from their homes as part of social distancing efforts to try to slow the spread of Covid-19. Due to this, recruiters and hiring managers are switching from face-to-face interviews to online interviews using apps such as Skype, Zoom and WhatsApp.
Online interviews suit many as they are less time consuming and more convenient – “[Candidates] are happy to use this approach […] because it saves them traveling time and minimises human contact amidst the Covid-19 outbreak,” said Charlene Tay at recruitment firm Robert Walters in Singapore.
