A teacher who falsified a degree certificate to obtain a role in a top independent school, has been banned.
At a hearing of the National College for Teaching and Leadership, the professional conduct panel heard that the teacher, Simon Dodd, admitted changing his 2:2 from Cambridge to a 2:1, in addition to omitting a three-month period of employment at another school
The lies only came to light by chance, with further investigation by the school management team revealing the full extent of the deception. Mr Dodd has 28 days to appeal.
Agenda Screening recommends that all employers screen candidates thoroughly, including having a qualification check, a minimum 3 year employment history and where appropriate, a CV gap analysis.
